The Prodigal God

Every once in awhile a book really gets my attention. Earlier this year it was The Shack. Last week on vacation I read The Prodigal God. What an awesome adventure in a short easy to read book. Timothy Keller uses a very familiar parable as a background to teach an incredible principle. We are all prodigals running away from the will of the Father. Some of us have been the younger brother rebeling and running from the traditions that we feel have bound us. Others however have walked the straight line like the older brother and then have become full pride in our status and therefore running away from God in a different way. A few have even been both. Rebeling early and then becoming full of pride in our turnaround. You need to read this book and evaluate your own prodigal status.
